Why is Restasis prescribed?

Restasis (Cyclosporine) eye drops are used to treat chronic dry eye. Cyclosporine increases the production of tears that was reduced by inflammation in the eye. It belongs to a class of drugs called immunosuppressants. Restasis may also be used to treat eye diseases not mentioned here.
