Temovate Scalp Solution treats the itching, redness, dryness, crusting, scaling, inflammation, and discomfort of various scalp and skin conditions, including psoriasis and eczema. It works by activating natural substances in the skin to reduce swelling, redness, and itching.

It would be best if you used Temovate Scalp Solution only as directed by your doctor. This medicine comes with a patient information leaflet. Read and follow the instructions carefully. 
This medicine is for use on the skin only. To help clear up your skin or scalp problem completely, you must keep using this medicine for full-time treatment. Take all doses. To use the Temovate scalp solution:

• Wash your hands with soap and water before and after using this medicine.
• Apply a thin layer of this medicine to the affected area of the scalp. Rub it in gently.
• Please do not cover the scalp while it is being treated. Rinse the area well with water.
• Please do not use Temovate scalp solution for more than two weeks unless your doctor tells you to.

Before using Temovate Scalp Solution, tell your doctor and pharmacist:

• If you are allergic to it or any other medications,
• You are taking prescription and nonprescription medications, vitamins, and nutritional supplements or plan to take them. Be sure to mention the following: other corticosteroid medications and other topical medications.
• If you have an infection, any other skin problems, or have ever had diabetes, Cushing's syndrome, or liver disease,
• If you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breastfeeding.
• If you are having surgery, including dental surgery, tell the doctor or dentist that you are using Temovate Scalp Solution.

More common side effects of Temovate Scalp Solution may occur:

• Burning or stinging at the application site

Less common side effects of Temovate Scalp Solution may occur:

• Burning sensation on the skin
• dry skin
• flushing or redness of the skin
• itching, scaling, severe redness, soreness, or swelling of the skin
• skin irritation
• skin rash, encrusted, scaly and oozing
• thinning of the skin with easy bruising, especially when used on the face or where the skin folds together.

Does Temovate Scalp Solution cause hair loss or growth?

Temovate scalp solution can stimulate hair growth. Regrowth may be noticed as early as six weeks into treatment but may take up to 12 to 14 weeks to occur.

How long does it take for Temovate Scalp Solution to work?

Temovate Scalp Solution takes about one to three days to start working when it is used to treat eczema.
