What is Zymar Eye Drops?

Zymar Eye Drops are antibiotics used for eye infections (such as conjunctivitis). This medication treats only bacterial eye infections. It will not work for other types of eye infections.

Use exactly Zymar Eye Drops as directed by your healthcare provider. Please only use more medicine or it more often than your doctor tells you to. Zymar Eye Drops are not for long-term use.

To use the Zymar Eye Drops:

  • First, wash your hands. Then tilt the head back and pull the lower eyelid away from the eye to form a pouch. Drop the medicine into the pouch and gently close your eyes. Do not blink. Keep the eyes closed for 1 or 2 minutes to allow the medicine to contact the infection.
  • If you think you need to get the drop of medicine into your eye properly, repeat the directions with another drop.
  • Do not touch the applicator tip on any surface to keep the medicine germ-free. Also, keep the container tightly closed.
